How women think + News

Dear friends,

This Sunday we are discussing How women think.

A rather curious subject since as I say in my few paragraphs on the subject, this question is
usually a Trojan horse for more basic issues about life. Ironically, what sounds like a
philosophical question is indeed a encrypted code to a Pandora's Box (pardon the pun) that blows
open the blatant discrimination and immorality of some sections of our society.

In the meantime we have a list of news for the next few days:

--- How women think---

Usually this kind of question is a Trojan horse for the real question: how can we attract a woman in
our life? And by all means, how men think is used for the same purposes.

Of course, we know that women are supposed to like tall men, but then many short men have a
successful life with women. And we also know that women like money, and even men like to have money.
But today, like most other ages, many men and women have a successful relationship with very little
money.

Of course, today we know very well that women are very good at multi tasking, not that there aren't
men who are capable at multi tasking. We also know that women are good at details, not that some men
aren't good at details. Another thing we know about women is that they make very good doctors and
teachers, although some men are also good doctors and teachers.

Women are also good at politics and are as capable as men at protecting the integrity of their
country. Although women, like male politicians, are also capable at blatantly infringing the human
rights of others; as many people are experiencing today even in Europe, including our country. It is
true that we haven't had any high profile dictators to the calibre of Sadam Hussein, Hitler or the
Kim's in North Korea. But some women in politics today are working hard at trying to break the mold.

What is more curious is how women think in an environment where, even in our own country, they are
likely to be earning twenty five percent less than their male peers. Or how politicians of all
colours and all convictions speak of family values and yet mothers are directly discriminated in the
labour market, or when there is instability in the economy that diminishes the prospects of earning
a living for themselves, their partners or their children earning a living.

But the irony is that it is those organisations who shout the loudest about family values and
morality that blatantly discriminate against women. Indeed their whole warped thinking is to
discriminate against women. Of course I am thinking of world religions.

Although the question how women think is not terribly interesting, although quite handy to know,
what is extremely philosophically interesting is: how women ought to think in a world of discrimination?

Take care
Lawrence
