Ignacio has confirmed that this Sunday is going to be busy with football
and F1 races. This means that once again we are left without a meeting.
However, we can meet for a drink; meet Molly Malone's at 6:30pm
In the meantime Edwin has sent me an email describing to us the passing
away of his wife.
And Peter is still looking for a flat mate.
---Edwin's message---
Liz died of cardiac arrest in the garden and the garden was something
she loved.
She was born with a congenital heart defect similar to something called
Tetralogy of Fallot, only more severe, transposed arteries, septal
defects (holes in the heart) two heart valves with severe constrictions.
At the age of eight (1959) a major English Cardiology hospital said that
there was no more that they could do and that her parents should make
the rest of her life as comfortable as possible. She had major
operations at the ages of 13 and 23.
So there is the question of whether it is a matter of complete sadness
that she has died now or some comfort that she had 50 years of extra
life that hadn't been expected when she was young. She recently met one
of the doctors who was part of the team who operated on her when she was
23 and his comment was "Good God are you still alive!".
So there is a big hole in the lives of my daughter, her brother, myself
and all those who knew her but also the knowledge that she lived a far
fuller and longer life than was expected 59 years ago.
I hope to see everyone again in the near future - to quote Vera Lynn
"Don't know how, don't know when" but I'm sure I will.
