Dear friends,

First of all, thank you for wishing me a quick and speedy recovery from
my cold. It seems that the viruses did not like my last essay after all.

Which brings me to this Sunday's topic: remorse.

I have a feeling that remorse is different from guilt; we can be made to
feel guilty even if we know deep down that were not or feel that we're
not. But not with remorse, remorse is completely a feeling in our total
command.

Could it be that remorse has more to do with hurt pride of having
discovered that we are wrong, than a moral imperative of having
discovered we have done wrong?

And talking about pride, Marga has kindly sent me a link to the Spanish
National Library digital version of the 1605 edition of Don Quijote. It
is really worth having a look at this site.

Take care and see you Sunday

Lawrence
